Bundeena beach is a lovely place south of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia and is a wonderful place to cool off during summers or just to spend a day away from the hustle bustle of the city. You can take a ferry ride to reach Bundeena. The ferry can deliver you straight to the wharf which is a popular spot for picnics. Bundeena is also only an hour’s drive from Sydney. Bundeena village is surrounded by the Royal National Park. Yet, Bundeena accommodation is available in this amazing setting.
All the beaches at Bundeena are breath taking and are perfect for a swim. Another fun activity could be the 1 and a half to 2 hour bushwalking from Bundeena beach to Little Marley Beach. On this walk you will find some picturesque views of the ocean and cliffs. The walk from Little Marley beach to the Big Marley beach is a good way to watch whales migrating during certain times in the year. Little Marley beach is also good for surfing.
A 20 minute walk from Bundeena beach will get you to Bonnie Vale beach with shallow water which is ideal if you have children and if they want to go swimming, it is very safe here. You can also take a permit to camp at the local campsite within the Royal National Park. There are picnic tables and provisions for barbeques on this beach.
Horderns, Bonnie Vale and Jibbon are some of the most spectacular bayside beaches in Bundeena. Right next to Hordens is a beach called Gunyah which is quite secluded as very few tourists are seen here. Though a little rocky, it makes a wonderful snorkeling spot. Jibbon is at the eastern end and doesn’t require a fee unlike BonnieVale.
You can visit any one of these beautiful beaches and blow some steam off by having a picnic or a barbeque. These beaches are quite addicting and you can be sure you will be coming back to enjoy its beauty.
