Location - Bermagui is a famous deep water game fishing port on the South Coast of NSW.The town's name is derived from the Dyirringanj word permageua which possibly means 'canoe or boat with no paddles'.The Fishermens Wharf complex on the harbour has some terrific restaurants with fresh seafood, cafes and gelato bars. Or just come down to relax and watch the fishing fleet sail in with the days catch.

Mount Gulaga, an extinct volcano which was formerly known as Mount Dromedary, can be seen inland from the harbour and sits at the back of the village of Central Tilba. Gulaga is the place of ancestral origin within the mythology of the Yuin people, the Indigenous Australians of the area.

Check what's on at the Four Winds, a world class architect designed Sound Shell and Windsong Pavilion music facility in an exceptional location just 9km south of Bermagui at Barragga Bay. See http://fourwinds.com.au/ for the ever-changing arts program.

Bermagui's Blue Pool

Take the Pacific Drive from Bermagui, then the steps down through the rocky cliff face to snorkel or swim in this beautiful natural rock pool. The viewing platform nearby is the ideal spot to watch whales frolicking in the Pacific Ocean.

Wallaga Lakes

Especially exquisite at sunset when covered by hundreds of black swans, this is the largest lake in Southern NSW. These elegant black birds are the totem of the local Yuin-Monaro people. Just sevenkilometresnorth of Bermagui, plan to take some time to breathe in the peace around this lake, or do some fishing, sailing, swimming, bushwalking or birdwatching. Picnic and toilet facilities are available. Make sure you visit nearby Montreal Goldfield, Australia's only coastal goldfield.

A beautiful retreat : 5 out of 5 stars
We travelled with another family - four adults and four kids and had a wonderful time in this truly breath taking spot. The house is spacious and well appointed with a great pool and spa, between the guest house (that can take up to twelve) and the owner's residence. Gary the landlord, and an ex-Wallaby is a total hoot, very friendly, but not intrusive and bakes a fab Pizza in his self built oven. Great walks all around, lots to do and see in the grounds of the property, fabulous beach ten minutes away, easy drive to Bermagui. We had a lovely week's holiday despite 48 challenging weather when we arrived.David, May 2016

Absolute paradise!!!: 5 out of 5 stars
We stayed at this property over the weekend of our wedding. It was so perfect we decided to book an additional night!! The house is fantastic and the surrounds are spectacular - The hosts were willing to go out of their way to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible - THANK YOU!! We also loved visits from Shorts the dog! We highly recommend and we hope to come back!Krystal, March 2016

"We visited Murrah for the weekend : 5 out of 5 stars
with a bunch a friends and I have to say we had a wonderful time. As soon as we got there we went to the beach, which was spectacular and within 10 minutes we caught a good size salmon. The hosts where very friendly and would always be there if needed but were not intrusive in any manner. I would highly recommend that you visit Murrah "ANONYMOUS, MARCH 2010

"WOW.. What a weekend was had at Murrah :5 out of 5 stars
The house is fabulous and was perfect for our group as there was plenty of space. We wanted a weekend away where we could catch up with girly talk. The beautiful beach was just a short walk and the views go on and on. The pool is a master piece. It was truly a great weekend and we still talk about it now, we were able to rekindle friendships, have great meals and a few wines. Managed to get in a game of golf on the 9 hole golf course. The owners were great hosts, unseen but there if they were needed. Massages were arranged and that was the icing on the cake. We'll be back"LINDA, APRIL 2009
