We have just spent the best weekend at Serenity. It is a fabulous house and we had an absolute ball. It proved to be the best pick we have ever made and by all feedback from the weekend nobody wants to wait until the next June long weekend to do it again.
I have never stayed in such a well equipped house and everyone commented on how good the beds etc were. This is a 10 out of 10 house. If only it were mine. Thanks also for your help as always.

Little Pig Creek is run with the health of the guests, wildlife and the environment in mind. Rainwater is on tap and recycling and composting are practiced. Only environmentally safe cleaners are used.

The Home:
Little Pig creek was built and used as a home for many years and provides everything needed for maximum comfort.
The eclectic decor is influenced by textiles and objects collected throughout Asia and beyond. The house is furnished with restored and recycled pieces which are full of history.
The 4" thick hardwood walls enclose an open plan living and kitchen area. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a gas stove and fridge/freezer. Tea and coffee essentials are provided.
The living space has two seating areas, TV, DVD, CD and IPod connection. The dining table seats 6.
There are 2 generous bedrooms, each containing a double bed and old oak furniture.
The large bathroom houses a free-standing bath with shower, basin, toilet, bidet and laundry facilities.
Snug in a sandstone corner of the living room is a wood burning heater. There is also a gas heater for chilly mornings in the breakfast area. A central ceiling fan provides summer cooling.
French doors open onto a large sail covered deck overlooking the private garden. There is a rustic BBQ over a fireplace. Large picture windows take in the view from inside.

The Area:
Kangaroo Valley is a spectacular place, totally enclosed by high cliffs. The wide green floor is home to dairy farms, historic buildings and private retreats.
The forested slopes of the valley lead down to the Kangaroo River, crossed near the village by Hampden Bridge, a castellated, sandstone bridge.
The village has most of the usual facilities including some good cafes, restaurants, shops, galleries and a pub. Outside the village, nature supplies the entertainment with short or long walking tracks, a canoeable river and great scenery.
Seven Mile Beach National Park is only half an hour away by car via Berry and the marine park of Jervis Bay/Booderee National Park is only 45 minutes drive through Nowra.

THE COTTAGE

The Cottage sits high on the hillside among a rainforest canopy and boasts panoramic views down the valley to the nearby Pacific Ocean. The cottage is only 5 minutes by car to Berry Village and 10 minutes to Seven Mile Beach.
The Cottage design was inspired by Bundanon's Music Room. Bundanon is the well known historic home on the Shoalhaven River where one of Australia's most famous artists, Arthur Boyd, lived.
The open plan cottage has high ceilings and wonderful views. French doors open to the cool verandas in summer and a wood fire keeps things warm in winter.
The cottage is fully self contained and the setting is very private. Because the property is up the end of a closed valley, there is no traffic. Fall asleep listening to the croaking of frogs and wakes to the calls of the birds.
Fresh linen and towels provided.

Private and Quiet
The Cottage property was once dairy country but since the cows have gone the original rainforest is regenerating. The cottage is now surrounded by both native and exotic trees and shrubs with a very active bird population.
The dam below the cottage is home to hundreds of frogs, dozens of wild ducks which fly in at dawn and a resident tortoise which sometimes floats in the middle of the water.
Echidnas bumble about during the day and at night wombats explore around the house.

THE OLD BARN

The Old Barn sits high on this rural acreage at the end of a no through road, surrounded by trees, loking down the valley over vineyards, grazing land and forest all the way to the ocean. The Barn is only 5 minutes by car from Berry Village or 10 minutes to Seven Mile Beach. Perfect peace and seclusion! A great place for couples to getaway.
The Old Barn started its life on the banks of the Shoalhaven River, but was moved to this property and fully restored.
Originally built to house feed and stores for a small dairy holding, the owners dismantled it and moved it to their property where they restored it and put in a kitchen and bathroom.
Fresh linen and towels provided.
